February Quote & Calendar – My Pea Plants Are Ready to Plant Outside But The Calendar Says Not

January seems as though it was abnormally long to me. the snow has been pretty; my fire has been toasty; but I am tired of winter and I am biting at my bits for spring. How perfectly today’s weather matches this quote by Gail Mazzu. It should reach 40 today and for the next few days. My pea plants are 8 inches tall; and I want to plant them outside–but the temperatures will dip again. I have targeted Valentine’s Day as the time that I’ll try to plant the peas outside.  That will be my Valentine’s gift to myself.

In Zone 7b, Hardy Vegetables Can Be Planted Outside on February 15.

  • peas
  • lettuce – all types
  • spinach
  • broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale
  • kohlrabi
  • radishes
  • onions
  • turnips
